Fire Making
Learn how to light a fire using a fire steel and a traditional flint and steel. We use a variety of tinders including foraging for natural resources.
-

Habitat Building & Animal Tracking
We take a look at how animals in our environment build habitats and survive during the seasons. We then create habitats using natural resources. Learn how to identify and track wildlife during our sessions and hopefully catch some on camera!
-

Cooking
During a session you can expect to learn how to light and maintain a fire in order to produce a hearty meal to keep you sustained during all the other fun activities. Meals include vegetable soups, cooked breakfasts, lentil curries and more.

Jewellery Making
Using nature and ensuring we do not take too much away, we teach you what tools to use to be able to create nature inspired jewellery. Pewter casting over a fire. Using a crucible to melt the pewter over a fire you will then create and design a clay mould to finally pour into and make your piece of jewellery
-

Whittling
Using a sheath knife you will learn the art of whittling wood. You will be able to identify green wood to ensure the activity has the best outcomes. If you are feeling creative we have spoon carving knives for you to make your own spoon or other cooking utensil.
Services We Provide
We currently provide schools with half-termly, Termly and year long programmes within your school grounds. You will be provided with 2 experienced team leaders that usually deliver 2 x 2 hour sessions for up to 15 children in early years and Primary schools. We work on a 1:5 ratio so having one of your own team members to join the sessions is important. It also ensures that the children have a familiar person whilst our team builds a positive relationship with them.
For senior/high schools we again come into your provision and provide bespoke programmes that suit their needs. Again with 2 experienced team leaders we work around the schools timetable to provide sessions for all ages and abilities.
We work with SEN, SEMH and local PRU’s offering therapeutic tailored and bespoke programmes that support children and students that need extra support and nurture.
Recently we have hosted a Forest School gathering and offer communities groups sessions that cater to their needs.
